DAFFODIL TEA 2010
It is nearly midnight one day after the first Charles River VCF Daffodil Tea which took place May 2nd, 2010. Yes it was my idea but it was the love, support and contributions of others that made this a success. I used my own “seed money” (and so did many others) and it grew into a beautiful garden.
Yesterday was another example of people from all different places coming together for a common goal. The last time I saw it so evident was on Kenneth’s wedding day, December 18th, 2008. I called that a “God given Day” and May 1st was another of those days. We all joined together in fellowship and drank tea together. We renewed old friendships and made new ones. We bought Silent Auction items and handmade items all given from the heart. We all did it to help raise awareness of mesothelioma and to contribute everything to the International Mesothelioma Program headed by Dr. Sugarbaker. He gave me a belief that obstacles can be overcome.
I cannot however overemphasize the importance of faith, family and friends. This is actually sometimes as important in healing as our medicine. Kenneth knew the importance of this and never gave up hope nor loving. May all who read this know this in your life. I had hoped we could raise $1000, BUT… at the tea, with the help of a silent auction, items from Combined Creations and donations, we raised $2,425.50 PLUS $749.50 from the online Firstgiving Daffodil tea account resulting in a grand total of $3175! My grateful thanks to everyone who participated. Thank you, Eliot Montessori School, for donating the space!
Look out for a date for next year and get busy on a new creation!

Isaiah 40:31
..but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
