Describes success

Our plans for the 2nd Daffodil Tea were well underway until the fateful evening of Feb 25th 2011. We had had many snowfalls that year and as I went out of our house and approached the concrete steps at the end of the long path I failed to see that the paving had heaved up with the frost. I was going out to meet Sheila and as I saw her and called her name I tripped on the slab and as I tried to regain my footing I fell down the flight of 6 stairs.
I broke my left arm, cut and sprained my right arm and needed 10 stitches for a cut under my chin. I slept for six weeks on a reclining chair until I was free once more to make tea and scones. Yes my plans were drastically changed after the fall.
During my 6 weeks of limitation Ron did a lot of cooking and I discovered Ebay and added to my collection of cups that I had and friends gave me. My friends Kim and Lucy made frequent trips to buy sugar and cream sets and goods were arriving from New Zealand USA and UK. Friends helped assemble over a hundred photo cards and as the day became closer I was able to do more.
Friends once again signed up to help and Deanna made gorgeous floral accents for the tables. These were sold at the end and brought in more revenue. The addition of cake stands and real china cups made the tables very welcoming. Lovely to see friends and colleagues attend.
A British theme was evident in the silent auction and the guests. This year the Daffodil Tea made $3,213  also $2628 from online giving and with a lot of help from my friends!
