How true that saying was to me in the past five years. There were old friends who were by my side every year and new ones that joined us along the way on our journey. They brought along friends, family and neighbors for our last Daffodil Tea. Hats were optional but encouraged !!
Melissa invited her friends, mom, Aunts, cousins and their children. Pastor Gina was there as she was every year and this year she even managed to sit down with her son Matt – another yearly supporter. Margaret and Katie came along from Walnut Hill School where we lived and worked and brought along their children. As the tables filled I recognized many from the hospital that I worked at. Some had left or retired but they came together for the Daffodil Tea. We underestimated the turn out and had to add another two tables !! I loved seeing the little ones there especially the Keenan boys who were “dressed for tea.” This was the second year that their dad had brought them from WHS. Hope invited her friends and they were also “dressed for tea.”
As I said at the beginning this was a year of reconnecting with many attendees from Leonard Morse Hospital where I worked. It was lovely to see Bernadette who immediately offered to help when she saw the crowd. My sister Sarah loved being with us and hugs and smiles were in abundance. She even did the dishes !! The last Daffodil Tea was a Full House and I left with a very full heart filled with Love and Gratitude for ever so many people named and unnamed and for Kenneth who will also be in our hearts forever.
